what is your style and focus?

My main focus is children and families but I do also accept limited portrait commissions for couples and seniors as well.

My style can best be described as soulful and evocative as I aim to capture human connection and emotion in an organic and pure way. I want my sessions to be fun and relaxed and I want you to feel free to love on your family and take the opportunity to connect with them. No need to line up and say cheese, I’m just not that kind of photographer. Instead I’m drawn to capturing authentic expressions, laughter and love. Our session should flow naturally as I strive to create works of art to be cherished for generations.

A bit camera shy? Don’t worry, I promise we will have fun and you will forget all about the camera in no time as you go about your business of enjoying some laughter and family time. I’m simply there to observe and capture some beautiful memories.

For more examples of my style please check out some of my recent work on my blog or Facebook page.

where will we shoot?

All appointments take place on location with the exception of newborns. I have some favorite locations that I love to shoot in but I also shoot in the comfort of your own home or at a location of your choosing.

what time of day do you shoot and how long do sessions last.

On location sessions are scheduled about 2 hours before sunset.  Times will vary depending upon the season and daylight savings times etc. If we’re shooting in your home times are more flexible. I do not set a time limit on my photo sessions but typically a session will last anywhere from 1 to 2 hours depending on various factors. I will shoot until I feel I have captured your family in the best possible way.

Newborn session do typically take longer between 2 to 4 hours depending on the time it takes to settle and comfort baby during our session.

A Little About Newborn Sessions.

The best time to photograph a newborn is between 4-8 days of life.  During this time frame your baby is still very sleepy and it is easier for me to gently position him/her. The older the baby gets the longer the periods of wakefulness and the more challenging this becomes.

My approach to newborn photography is a little different. I am not a “bells and whistles” kind of photographer and I tend to adopt more of a lifestyle approach to these session. I aim to capture the emotion and love that exists and the joy that this new little bundle has brought to your lives. I love a tender mother and baby shot and I will focus on real evocative moments vs. the perfectly posed.

What does a session cost?

Session start at $200 and collections at $495.  Please contact me for a complete price list.

what is included with my session fee?

Your session fee includes pre-session consultation via phone or e-mail where we can discuss wardrobe options, your vision for your session, location and possibly theme. The session fee also includes my shooting time on the day of the session and the post processing of all your images. Upon completion I will upload all your final images to an online portrait gallery where you will be able to view 35 to 65 of your professionally edited photographs.

The session fee does not come with products or digital files of any kind. These can be ordered once your client gallery is ready and online.  The gallery will remain online for 7 days during which time you may make your selection. To receive a copy of my full price list please send me an e-mail or give me a call.

Do you offer digital files?

I do offer digital collections. This day in age I believe it’s important to have access to digital files for archival purposes and for sharing with family and friends via social media. Owning your own digital files allows you the flexibility of printing your own prints and products preferably with our partner labs for best results.

Have more questions? I’ll be glad to answer any so don’t hesitate to get in touch.
